Safeguarding Statement

At Film & Events Medical Services, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all individuals encountered within our pre-hospital care environment, including patients, children, young people, and adults at risk.

Operating within dynamic settings such as film sets and live events, we recognise our responsibility to identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all individuals receiving care.

Safeguarding in a Pre-Hospital Setting

  • Recognise signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and self-neglect
  • Identify safeguarding risks in both clinical and non-clinical settings
  • Make rapid, informed decisions to protect individuals from harm
  • Escalate concerns appropriately, even where information may be limited
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with professional standards

Prevent Duty

  • Staff are trained to recognise indicators of radicalisation and vulnerability to extremism
  • Prevent concerns are treated as safeguarding issues and managed accordingly
  • Appropriate referrals are made in line with local Prevent pathways
  • We promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all patients and service users

Our Standards

  • All staff hold a current Enhanced DBS check
  • Staff receive role-appropriate safeguarding training, including Level 2 or above and Prevent awareness where applicable
  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is in place to provide oversight and guidance
  • Clear safeguarding policies and reporting pathways are implemented and regularly reviewed
  • All concerns are recorded and shared in line with information governance and data protection requirements

Reporting & Escalation

All staff are trained to escalate safeguarding concerns immediately through appropriate internal and external channels. Where necessary, referrals will be made to Local Authority Safeguarding Teams, Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH), and Emergency Services or Police.

We operate a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or radicalisation, ensuring individuals at risk receive timely protection and support.

Clinical Governance & Continuous Improvement

Safeguarding is embedded within our clinical governance framework. We actively review safeguarding incidents, feedback, and outcomes to improve clinical practice and patient safety, inform ongoing staff training and development, and ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice.
